“Cecile Grimes Elder”

“Cecile Mae Grimes, daughter of Minnie and Mark Grimes, was born January 28, 1892 in Leon, Iowa, and died at her home in Kansas City, February 10, 1969. When she was 16, her mother died. She kept house for her father and devoted her young life to the loving care of her three brothers, Leslie, Forest, and Marion, all of whom preceded her in death.

On August 15, 1917, she was united in marriage to Morris D. Elder. One child, Bette, was born to this union. She was member of the United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, her daughter Bette, and son-in-law, Floyd Godbey of Kansas City; nephews, nieces, three sisters-in-law...”
