“Mrs. Ralph Wood”

“Freda Hall Wood was born near Leon, Iowa, July 7, 1895. She was the daughter of E. P. and Flora Hall and the youngest of six children. When six years of age she moved with her parents to their present home, where she spent the remainder of her life, except three years, during which time the family resided in New Mexico. She united with the Christian church in the year of 1915. On October 30, 1915, she was united in marriage to Ralph Wood, and after a short stay in Colorado, returned to her father’s home, where she died on December 1, 1915. All that loving hands and medical skill could do was done, but to no avail. Two sisters and one brother preceded her, and she leaves the lonely husband, father, mother and two brothers, Harry of Lucas and Roy of Weldon, besides a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her departure.

Freda was a bright, loving girl, possessed with an unusual amount of energy and thrift, which often carried her beyond her strength, and unto the very last she was hopeful, making plans for the future, when her strength would return. The remembrance of these characteristics will be an inspiration to those who shall miss Freda most.

Funeral services were held at the home on the afternoon of December 3rd, conducted by H. G. Barr of Des Moines, pastor of the Weldon Christian church, and was largely attended by neighbors and friends who thus sought to show their sympathy for the breaved ones. The body was then laid to rest in the Green Bay cemetery.”

“Card of Thanks”

“We desire to thank all neighbors and friends for the help and kindness shown during the illness and death of our loved one; also for the beautiful floral offerings, and the musicians who assisted in the funeral service.
Ralph Wood
Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Hall”

(Marriage and death record have been included with the obituary because only thirty days passed between them.)
