DEATH NOTICE:

SMITH, Madelyn, 88, died on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011, at Brooks South Town Chapel in Des Moines, Iowa. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

MADELYN SMITH ... Madelyn Smith, 88, passed away August 10, 2011. Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 13 at Brooks South Town Chapel, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family received friends one hour prior to the service.

Madelyn will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who enjoyed a good laugh and teasing others. She was a faithful friend and had a strong faith in God and was a member of First Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Clifford; children, Glee (Lee) Anderson of Des Moines, Pat (Dean) Turley of AL, and Dennis (Deanna) Smith of CA; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; siblings, Darrell Vaughn, Maxine Smith, and LaVeda (Jim) Thompson; and dear friend, Jeannie Hosier.
