DEATH NOTICE:

CAMERON, Shirley, 70, of Leon, Iowa, died on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Westview Acres Care Center in Leon. Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Iowa. Interment was in Van Wert Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Central Iowa in Mount Ayr.

SHIRLEY FULTON ... Shirley Lucille Loomis Cameron, daughter of Carl Winfield Loomis and Mabel Lucille Fulton Loomis, was born April 15, 1941 five miles north of Murray, Iowa and departed this life on June 14, 2011 at the age of 70 at Westview Acres Care Center in Leon, Iowa.

Shirley graduated from Winterset High School in 1959; and on June 7, 1959, she was united in marriage to Elmer Charles Cameron in the Methodist Church in Patterson, Iowa. Five children blessed this union. Shirley was a homemaker. She had huge gardens, quilted and loved cats. She left behind memories of eating fudge with a spoon, garage selling, and enjoying fancy glasses of syrup from canned fruit. On November 13, 1974, she became a certified nurses aide while working at Westview Acres care Center; on June 2, 1987, she received her Med Aide Certification. She also worked as a Home health Aide in Decatur and Clarke County. Elmer and Shirley always had room in their home for children that needed a place to stay. Shirley was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lacelle.

Preceding Shirley in death were her husband; parents; and sister, Sharon Kramer. Left to cherish her memories are her five children: daughter, Peggy Speakman and husband Stanley of Princeton, Missouri, daughter Cindy Horney and husband Dennis of Leon, Iowa, son, Alvin Cameron and wife Debbie of Chillicothe, Missouri, son, Bill Cameron and wife Peggy of Chillicothe, Missouri, son Gene Cameron and wife Jody of Osceola; 6 grandchildren: Tanya Phillips and husband Chris of St. Joseph, Missouri, Andy Speakman of Princeton, Missouri, Terri Leahy and husband Jon of Leon, Iowa, Quentin Cameron and friend Brooke Lollar of St. Joseph, Missouri, Justin Cameron and wife Amie of Henderson, Texas, Rebecca Cameron of Osceola, Iowa; 6 great grandchildren: Madison, Abigail, Taylor and Grace Leahy of Leon, Iowa, Bentlee Cameron of St. Joseph, Missouri, Cason Cameron of Henderson, Texas; brother Ronald Loomis and wife Janis of Kellerton, Iowa; sister-in-law, Alice Brown and husband Delmer of Creston, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
