RANGEL, Doris June 82, of Leon, died June 3, 2010 at the Dabb residence in Leon, Iowa. Arrangements were through Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon. No services are planned.

DORIS JUNE RANGEL ... Doris June Rangel, age 82, the daughter of Rudy and Gladys Lillian [Gaebel] Desort, was born June 26,1 927 in Chicago, Illinois. She died at the Dabb residence in Leon, Iowa on Thursday, June 3, 2010.

Doris grew up in Chicago and attended school there. She graduated from University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. She married Robert Ritchie and was blessed with daughter, Daryl. Later she married Robert Rangel and was blessed with daughter, Elaine. Doris did social work in Chicago before teaching social studies in California public schools. In 1996 she moved to Leon, Iowa. Doris enjoyed watching the news on television, quilting, gardening,and spending time with family and her pets.

Preceding her in death were her parents and both ex-husbands. Survivors include her daughter, Daryl Grady of Sun Valley Nevada and Elaine Rangel and companion Mark Wells of Leon; sisters, Elaine Rush and husband Johnny of Spring Grove, Illinois an Edith McCormick of Chicago, Illinois; brother Rudy Desort II and wife Cookie of Franklin, Tennessee; friends and care givers, Ted and Marilyn Dabb of Leon; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
