SCOTT, Ruby, 89, of Davis City, Iowa, died at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. funeral Services will be held at Slade-O'Donnell funeral home in Leon, Iowa on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Iowa. Memorials may be given to Davis City Community Center.

RUBY MAVERINE SCOTT ... Ruby Maverine Scott, age 89 of Davis City, Iowa, the daughter of Morton Windsor and Harriet "Hattie" Ann [Stephens] Ordway, was born August 26, 1920 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Ruby attended Stringtown Country School and Lamoni High School. She married Ennis Gene Scott on January 28, 1942 in Bethany, Missouri. To this union five children were born, Judy, Loren, Sandra, Lyle, and Lowell. The family lived on their farm east of Davis City for 64 years. Ruby worked at O'Bryan Brothers in Leon for 13 years, but also worked on the farm with Gene. She could do all the farm work as well as anyone. She enjoyed making quilts, tending her flower gardens, and having her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren visit. She made sure no one ever left hungry. She has a good sense of humor and at times was a little mischievous. She was a sharp card player and still played Solitaire every night.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Gene on March 12, 2007; son Lowell on January 17, 2008; brothers, Earold, Frank, and Roy Ordway; and sister Opal Osborne.

Survivors include her four children, Judy King of Davis City, Loren Scott of Davis City, Sandra Scott of Auburn, Washington, and Lyle Scott and wife Janice of Truro, Iowa; daughter-in-law Stephanie Scott of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren: Luci Crandall of West Des Moines, Iowa, Lansing Scott of Milo, Iowa, Jodi Scott of Urbandale, Iowa, Eric Scott of Cummings, Iowa, Kelli Honaker of Marion, Iowa, Cory Scott of Truro, Jeff Boyd of Leon, Julie Uri of Leon, Andy Kinder of Columbia, Missouri, Jacob Scott of Creston, Iowa, John Scott of Davis City, Tammy Earll of Chandler, Arizona, and Brian King of Gilbert, Arizona; 20 great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
