BERNICE MAY CAIN ... daughter of Richard Lowell Hart and Almeda Isabella Melton, was born near Cainsville, Mo., on 11 May 1897, having lived her entire life in this area, and passed away 21 Oct. 1896, at the Decatur Co. Hospital in Leon, Ia., at the age of 89 years and 5 months.

Bernice was united in marriage to Claude Wylie Cain 1 Aug. 1914, in Bethany, Mo. and to this union eleven children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude, on 23 Jun. 1974; her parents; one sister, Edna Huff; and two brothers, Howard and Harvey Hart. Bernice is survived by her four daughters, Florence Hydorn of Trenton, Wilma Foreman of Lamoni, Ia., Mary Hagan of Cainsville, and Shirley Blakley of Weston, Mo.; seven sons, Richard, Darrell and Franklin Cain, all of Cainsville, Harvey Cain of El Dorado Springs, Mo., Clayton Cain of Atkins, Ia.. and James Cain of Leavenworth, Ks.; 45 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church near Cainsville, and lived a true and faithful Christian life.

Funeral services were held Sat. 25 Oct. 1986 at 11 a.m. at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton, with Rev. Norris Ramsey officiating. Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Cainsville.
