LLOYD E. DAVIS ... was born in Saline Missouri October 7, 1903 son of Guy E. and Effie A. Willis Davis. He passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa February 11, 1982 after a lengthy illness. At the age of 78 years 4 months and 4 days. Lloyd spent his childhood in Pleasanton, Iowa, attending school there. He served with the US Army in WWII after that he retired to Cainsville, Missouri to take care of his aging mother. In later years in failing health he entered the Westview Acres Rest Home at Leon, Iowa. His parents and brothers preceded him in death. He is survived only by cousins.

Funeral services were held at the Stoklasa Chapel in Cainsville, Missouri February 13, with the Rev. Harms Baptist Church officiating. Roberta Willis and Larry Meinke accompanied by Phyllis Livesay sang "Ten Thousand Years" and "No One Ever Cared for me Like Jesus". Casket bearers were Gene Brejnik, Wilbur Harold, Frank Jones, Randy Lawson, Warren Ledgerwood and Wallace Skroh. Color guards were Gary Francis, Warren Hobbs, Eugene Moss, George Francis, Ray Johnson, Keith Thomas and Roderick Fender. Interment was in the Hamilton Cemetery at Pleasanton, Iowa. CARD OF THANKS: We wish to thank friends and neighbors for the kindness shown us in the loss of our cousin. The cousins of Lloyd E. Davis.

"LLOYD E. DAVIS ... son of Effie Willis and Guy Davis, was born October 7, 1903 near Saline. He lived in the Cainsville area for many years but also lived in Kansas City where he was a policeman and street car operator. He died Feb. 11, 1982 in the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines and is buried in the Hamilton Cemetery just north of Pleasanton, Iowa."
