DEATH TAKES J. W. HELTON ... John Wayne Helton, Conservation agent for Davies and Caldwell Counties, died Wednesday at a hospital at Kansas City, Mo. He was 52.

Mr Helton was born in Mercer County, Mo. and graduated from the Cainsville, Mo. High School. He attended William Jewell College and Northwest Missouri State College. For several years Mr. Helton taught in the rural schools in Harrison County. In 1941 he moved to Gallatin and became associated with the Missouri Conservation Department. He had started his 15th year in this capacity.

Mr. Helton was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Rotary Club.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nina Pauline Helton of the home, two sons, John W. Helton Jr., and Steven Lee Helton both of Warrensburg, Mo., two daughters, Mrs. Kay Kordes, Gallatin, and Mrs. Diane Gray, Savannah, Mo. his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Helton, Ridgeway, Mo., two brothers, Lloyd Helton, Gilman City, Mo., and Lester Helton, Nettleton, Mo., a sister, Mrs. Larkin Seymour, Davis City, Iowa and five grandchildren.

Services were at 1:30 pm Friday at the Hope Mortuary. The Rev Marlin Moody officiated and burial was in Freedom Cemetery.

Mr. Wayne Helton of Gallatin passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Kansas City, Dec. 1. Funeral services were held at the Hope Funeral Home in Gallatin on Friday. Interment was in the Freedom Cemetery.

Mr. Helton was a son of Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Helton of Ridgeway and a brother of Mrs. Larkin Seymour, of this community.

Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Francis Willis of Mt. Ayr; Mr. and Mrs. Dean Thompson of Columbia, Mo, Mrs. Peggy Boxley of Chilli, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Willis of Trenton; Mr. and Mrs. Lipa Lafollette, Mrs. Bill Barnett and Mrs. Agnes Lafollett of Leon, Iowa, David Helton of Columbia, Mo.

IN MEMORIAM ... I would like to give a few words of comfort to my relatives of John Wayne Helton who passed away recently.

My 2nd Cousins: My uncle and aunt, Bennie and Nellie Helton, Ridgeway, Mo.; Mable Seymour, Cainsville, Mo.; Lloyd Helton, Gilman City, Mo.; Lester Helton, Nettleton, Mo.

My 1st cousins: Bell Girdner, Emmett, Idaho; My mother and aunt of Wayne, sister of Uncle Bennie. And all the host of relatives too numerous to mention.

DIVINE STRENGTH ...

When I passeth the waters, I will be with thee;

And thou the rivers they shall not overflow thee;

When thou walkest through the fire,

Thou shall not be burdened

Neither shall the flame dwindle you

Isaiah 43:2, God will help all who trust in him.
