HAMILTON ... Ernest Newton, eldest son of Charles L. and Edna [DeLong] Hamilton, was born May 1, 1901, and departed this life so suddenly Aug. 20, 1954, being 53 years, four months of age.

He was united in marriage to Cecil Dale Hawk on Nov. 13, 1924. To this union five children were born; namely, Leslie George and Kenneth Wales of Ridgeway, Mo., one daughter, Mary Deloris (Mrs. Frank Oehring) of Holly Ridge, N.C., Harold Eugene of the home, and one son, Maurice Thyane, who died at birth. His father and two little sisters preceded him in death.

Surviving are his dear loving wife, his three sons, one daughter, five little grandsons, two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, his mother, five brothers, Jasper and Clarence of Ridgeway, Mo., Arthur and Alva of Davis City, Iowa, and Randall of Newton, Iowa; two sisters, Florence (Mrs. Kenneth Baker) and Rosanna (Mrs. Russell Meinecke) of Cainsville, Mo.; five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, 19 nieces and nephews, and other relatives and a host of friends who mourn his passing.

He was raised to manhood on the farm in Clay Township north of Cainsville, Mo. A few years after his marriage they purchased a farm just south of Pleasanton, Iowa, in Mercer County, living there about 10 years, then selling out and moving to Ridgeway, Mo., in September, 1945, where he had his present home and blacksmith shop. He worked and served the public until the last week when he accepted a job working for the Great Lakes Pipe Line Co., near Brooklyn, Mo., where he was stricken with a fatal heart attack.

Ernest, as he was always called, was an honest, hard-working man, always ready to help his fellow men in need or trouble, and was a kind loving husband and father to his family.
