BETTY JO ANN DALE (Van Wert, Iowa) ... Betty Jo Ann [Gardner] Dale, daughter of Morris Gene and Velma Kathryn [McReynolds] Gardner, was born June 16, 1951 at Kirksville, Missouri and died August 24, 1993 at her home near Van Wert, Iowa at the age of 42 years, 2 months and 8 days.

She was married to Richard Dennis Dale on December 5, 1970. To this union were born two daughters: Julie Ann and Lisa Diane.

Jo Ann enjoyed working with the public. At the time of her death she was the owner of the Taco Villa Restaurant in Osceola, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Dick Dale of Van Wert, Daughter Julie Boord and husband Michael of Kansas City, Missouri, and daughter Lisa Dale of the home; parents, Morris and Velma Gardner of Clio, Iowa; two aunts, Rose Ella Holmes and husband Frank of Princeton, Mo; and Sue McReynolds of Albany, California; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 1993 at the Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Hom in Leon, Iowa with Rev. Max Carmichael officiating. Burial was in the New Salem Cemetery south of Leon. Pallbearers were Jerry Cox, Johnnie Cox, Alan Hamilton, Kenny Hamilton, Bruce Pettyjohn, and Jack Parsons.
