DEATH NOTICE:

PETTY, Marla Kay, 52, of Leon, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Memorial services were held at the Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon April 19 with Rev. Terry D. Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Davis City Cemetery at a later date.

MARLA KAY PETTY ... Marla Kay Petty, age 52 of Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert Elain and Jacqueline Marie [Chandler] Daughenbaugh, was born January 15, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa. She died at her home on Tuesday, April 13, 2010.

Marla attended Central Decatur School with the class of 1976. On April 27, 1984 she married Gary Allen Petty. Together they were raising their children, Justin, Misty, and Joseph. She was a good wife and mother. Most recently Marla worked at Casey's General Store and Fast Stop in Leon.

In her free time, Maria enjoyed walking her dog, Bailey, gardening and her flowers. She loved the outdoors, birds, and animals, but most of all, she loved her family. She enjoyed family reunions and talking with people, she always spoke her mind.

She was preceded in death by her mother. Survivors include her husband Gary Petty of Leon; children, Justin Booth and fiance Leigh Kuhns, Misty Petty and fiance Cody Cooper, and Joe Petty, all of Leon; brother Terry Daughenbaugh of Lawrence, Kansas; half brothers, Kelly & Paige Daughenbaugh and Kenny Daughenbaugh; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
