FRED WILLIS Fred Willis, son of Cleave and Mattie [Samples] Willis was born April 8, 1881 and died in a hospital in St. Joseph, June 2, 1959, being at the time of his death 78 years and 24 days of age.

He joined the Fairview Christian Church at the age of 16, during the ministry of Rev. Matt Booth, and was baptized in the Old Grand River, just north of the Harrison Ford.

He was married to Stella McBee and to this union one son was born. His wife, two year old son, his father and mother, three brothers and three sisters all preceded him in death. he now leaves to mourn his passing, one sister, Mrs. E. A. Graham, of Cainsville, seven nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Could he but speak back to us this day, he would say; "May you hear the voice of Christ!" "Tis I, be not afraid, peace be your troubled soul!" And the voice that stilled the waves of Gallilee, will comfort you in your darkest hours of sorrow.

Pallbearers were E. C. Melson, Shella B. Crouse, Howard Taff, Alva Crawley, Raymond Crawley and Lyman H. Bears.

Services were held Thursday afternoon June 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Stoklasa Funeral Home.

Mrs. Orel Hrdlicka and Helen Bauer sang accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Pearl Phillips.

Burial was at the Fairview Cemetery with E. J. Stoklasa, Mortician in charge.

Card of Thanks..... We wish to express to our kind neighbors and thoughtful friends our heartfelt thanks for their many expressions of sympathy. The beautiful floral offerings were especially appreciated. The Fred Willis Family.
