EDNA MAE FINNEY ... Edna Mae Finney, daughter of George Wesley and Louisa [Rurrell] (sic Burrell) Dennis, was born in Gove County, Kan., on July 18, 1899 and passed away on April 20, 1993 at the Eastview Manor Nursing Home in Trenton at the age of 93.

Edna Mae was united in marriage to Walter Finney on Feb. 27, 1921. He preceded her in death in 1950.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Wilbur Dean Finney, a granddaughter, Judith Fay Finney; a son-in-law, Dane Grossnickle, Sr.; one brother Glen Dennis; and two sisters, Sula Bartlett and Frances Campbell.

She is survived by her daughter Wilma Gossnickle, Punta Garda, Fla.; her son J.D. Finney Cainsville; one brother, Elbert Dennis, Ames, Iowa; three sisters, Lena Dennis, Lamoni, Iowa; Dale Evans, Tucson, Arizona; and Belva Collins, Platte City, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Harvey Campbell, Lamoni; Three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great, great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Edna Mae lived all her adult life in the Cainsville area, leaving the farm in September 1989 to move to the Eastview manor Nursing Home. She worked as a seamstress and as a clerk in the Oscar Gable Store in Davis City, Iowa, but mostly as a homemaker, raising her family. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton with Rev. Max Haggard officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Cemetery.
