NATHAN MORTON was born in Kentucky in 1831. He was brought to Missouri
where he remained until 1863, when he came to Decatur County, Iowa, settling
in Long Creek Township. He was first married in Missouri, the wife dying
many years ago. In 1889 he was married to AMANDA TAYLOR and moved to a farm
near Decatur City where he lived until recent years. Death came about
twelve o'clock Friday night after a sickness extending over one year.

He leaves a wife and one daughter to mourn their loss. Funeral services
were conducted from the home Sunday afternoon by Rev. Cunningham, Pastor of
the Methodist Episcopal Church. Interment in Decatur Cemetery.
