JAMES WILLARD GASSETT was born April 7th, 1890, at the present home, and
died Feb. 14th, 1914, at the same place, aged twenty-three years, ten months
and three days. He attended the Leon high school and the Veterinary College
at Chicago, and was taken sick while attending the college. He was a strong
believer in Christian Science and firm in his belief; was patient in his
suffering to the last. He retained an unimpaired memory through his illness
and often spoke cheerfully of his friends while on his bed of suffering.

Before his illness he took great interest in outdoor sports and his ambition
and enthusiasm, no doubt, led him beyond his strength at times. In such
surroundings he built up a wide sincere companionship among young men of his
age, and his death has caused sincere grief to them as well as to the older
persons who knew him. Everything possible was done in efforts to regain his
health. He went to various sanitariums and three times went to the west
seeking improvement. After remaining in Wyoming nearly two years, he
returned to his home on the first of last December, resigned, but cheerful.

The funeral was held at the home Wednesday, Feb. 11th. Burial was at the
Leon Cemetery.

He leaves a father and mother and one brother, WALTER, living near Cheyenne,
Wyoming and a number of other relatives and a large circle of friends to
mourn their loss.
