TONEY, Georgia, 97, of Leon, Iowa died January 28, 2010 at Westview Acres Care Center in Leon. Funeral services were held February 2 at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon with burial in the Leon Cemetery.

Survivors include children: Linda Maule, Wheat Cheer, IA, Lorna Noecker of Garden Grove, Naida Hill and husband Danny of Leon, Julia Baughman, Knoxville, and Reta Jennings, Tulsa, Oklahoma; 2 sisters and one brother; 21 grandchildren 38 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

GEORGIA MILDRED TONEY ... Georgia Mildred Toney, age 97 of Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur Allison "Jack" and Estella Mae [Cline] Cornwall, was born May 19, 1912 at Ellston, Iowa. She died at Westview Acres Care Center on Thursday, January 28, 2010.

Georgia graduated from Ellston High School with the class of 1930. On July 19, 1933 she married William Forest Toney. They were blessed with eight children.

Georgia worked briefly in the Amour plant in Leon during WWII while her husband was serving in the US Navy. In later years she worked in the area nursing homes and did in home day care.

She was baptized into the Leon Brethren Church and later transferred her membership to the Leon Christian Church. Georgia loved growing flowers and tending her house plants. She enjoyed sewing and made many quilts including one for each of her grandchildren. Most of all she enjoyed visits from her children and grandchildren. Her smile was ready and her wit was keen.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Forest on January 20, 1997; three sons, Gerald Forest in infancy, Gary William on January 16, 1985, and Darrell Lee on February 4, 1999; son-in-law Leon Noecker; five siblings, Karol Long, Iris Maas, Murice Madison, Virginia Haley, and Richard Cornwall; and great granddaughter Alexis Keara Baughman.

Survivors include her five daughters, Linda & Larry Maule of What Cheer, Iowa, Lorna Noecker of Garden Grove, Iowa, Naida & Danny Hill of Leon, Julia Baughman and boyfriend George Kelly of Knoxville, Iowa and Reta Jennings and boyfriend Kim Jacobs of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 21 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; sisters, Geneva Smith of Simi Valley, California and Charlene Thompson of Galena, Missouri; brother Elton & Lillian Cornwall of Glendora, California; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
