ISAAC OLIVER SEYMOUR, residing about six miles south of Davis City, was
struck by the branches of a falling tree in the timber near his home on
Thanksgiving day and so badly injured that his death resulted about 11 o
clock Sunday evening.

Mr. SEYMOUR, accompanied by his son, ERNEST, had gone to the timber to chop
down a tree. They had started the tree to falling and had stepped away but
it caught in the branches of another tree and was thus thrown to one side, a
large limb breaking off and striking Mr. SEYMOUR with great force in the
stomach and on his breast. Help was summoned by the son and Mr. SEYMOUR
taken to his home and Dr. Reed of Davis City hurriedly summoned. The
physician was able to relieve his sufferings for a time but the injuries
were too serious for recovery. On Sunday he became much worse and passed
away that night at 11 o'clock. The funeral was held Tuesday and interment
followed in the Seymour Cemetery.
