Death Notice -

(The Leon Journal-Reporter Wednesday June 14, 2006

HALL, Nadene Stanford, 80, of Leon, Iowa, died June 9, 2006 in her home. Funeral services will be held today, 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14 at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon with Pastors Max Carmichael and Dale Short officiating. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery.

A Memorial fund has been established by the family.

NADENE HALL ... Nadene Stanford Hall was born to Ralph Leroy Stanford and Beulah Mae Perks Stanford on March 22, 1926 at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa and passed away June 9, 2006 in her home at the age of 80, after a lengthy illness with all of her family by her side.

Nadene was raised in Decatur County and attended Leon High School. She was baptized at the Assembly of God Church.

She was united in marriage to Ardath David Hall on January 16, 1943, and to this union was born 3 daughters and 1 son.

Nadene enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, always making sure each visit included 4 kisses and an "I love you." She was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

When she was not cooking home-cooked meals, canning, or watching her grandchildren, you could find her working in her flowers and gardening, attending many auctions, spending time at the boat in Osceola, or sitting at several different locations in town with her husband Ardie visiting with young and old alike because to her there were no strangers.

During her life she worked at Snowdens, Decatur County Hospital, was an Avon representative, with her husband owned and operated the well-known bar and restaurant, Ardie's Place, and helped her girls many years with their own restaurant businesses.

Nadene is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ardath Hall of Leon; two sisters, Margaret Davis of Leon and Barbara Binning and husband Gordon of Lamoni; children: Sondra Phipps and husband Gary of Leon, Dianna Brenizer and husband Eldon of Decatur, Pam Bethards and husband Jim of Cameron, Missouri, and son James Halll of Leon; grandchildren: Terri Rumley, Bill Reed, Sonya Buckingham and husband Brent, David DeVore and wife Kim, Jeff DeVore and wife Trish, Scott Bethards and wife Cat, Salina Clark and husband Russ, Tammy Greenlee and husband Robert, all of the Leon area, and Tiffany Bethards of Cameron, Missouri; great grandchildren: Tyson, Haylie, and Wyatt Rumley, Taylor Reed, Malorie Irving, Nichole, Whitney, and Trae Buckingham, Casey and Reese DeVore, Shyanne DeVore, Cameran Huett, Alyssa Audlehelm, Callan, Morgan, Keegan, and Carson Bethards, Anthony and Garrett Clark, and Riley Greenlee.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Ralph Leroy Stanford and Beulah Mae Hatfield; brother Billie Dean Stanford; 10 brothers-in-law: Walker Davis, Kenneth Davenport, Clair Kelly, Ordie Seuferer, Albert Hall, Homer Cory, Orval Fesler, Leonard Johnson, Gerald West, and Rudy Beer; 8 sisters-in-law: Violet Hall, Cloma Cory, Charlotte Fesler, Pansa Johnson, Margaret Stanford, Verlene Lehman, Eula West, and Audrey Beer; and 4 nephews: Dixie Lee David, Samuel West, Marion West and Wendall West.

Nadene will be warmly remembered by her children and grandchildren for being a mother and grandmother that had a deep passion for her family. Her generous spirit, loving heart, and her willingness to always be there to give her honest opinion, good or bad, will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched throughout her life.
