PALMER, Harold Eugene, 81, of Leon, Iowa, died January 20, 2010 at the Westview Acres Care Center in Leon. A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.

HAROLD EUGENE PALMER ... Harold Eugene Palmer, 81, Leon, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Westview Acres Care Center in Leon, Iowa. He was born on September 29, 1928, the fifth son of C. Vern Palmer and Olive [Collins] Palmer in Decatur County near Van Wert, Iowa.

He attended schools in Decatur rand Clarke Counties. He served in the Korean War from February 1951. Four children were born to this union: Keith Eugene, Terry Duane, Ricky Joe and Linda Kay.

His greatest joys were his family and working on the farm.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Vern and Olive Palmer; grandson Travis Palmer; daughter-in-law, Brenda Palmer; sister-in-laws, Maxine Palmer and Ruth Palmer; and nephews Gary Moore and Jim Palmer.

Those left to cherish his memory are Ladine Palmer, Keith (Sandy) Palmer, Terry Palmer, Rick (Joan) Palmer, Linda (David) Redman. Grandchildren: Brent Redman, Erica (Scott) Evans, Clint (Reagen) Redman, Shana Palmer, Laura and Teresa Palmer. Great grandchildren: Alexis, Morgan and Alyssa Evans, Piper Redman, Bradley Palmer and Hannah Henderson. Brothers: Carrel Palmer, Garden Grove, Raymond (Evelyn) Palmer, Bob Palmer and Wayne Palmer, all of Leon; and sister, Christine Smith, of Huxley, Iowa; as well as many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.
