RAINER, Eugene, Jr., 43, of Leon, Iowa, died January 12, 2010 at his home in Leon. funeral services were held at the Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon January 15 with Rev. Eddie West officiating.

EUGENE RAINER, JR. ... Eugene Rainer, Jr., age 43, the son of Eugene and Mary Jane [Borne] Rainer, was born January 20, 1966 at Worcester, Massachusetts. He died at his home in Leon, Iowa on Tuesday January 12, 2010.

From the age of nine, JR was raised by Roe and Genevieve Poush. He attended Central Decatur Schools and obtained his GED. In the mid-1980's he married Julie Howell. They were blessed with one son, Daniel. In the mid-1990's he remarried and became father to Anthony. On December 21, 2004 JR married LeaLoni Kayann Adams. They have sons, Otis Eugene and Eugene Rainer, III.

For most of his adult working life, JR was a truck driver for various companies while living in the Leon area. He drove a school bus for Central Decatur from 2002 until 2005 when ill health caused his early retirement. JR became a stay at home daddy.

He enjoyed watching wrestling on TV and liked doing mechanic work on cars. He always enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; step-dad Gayle Jones; childhood guardian Genevieve Poush; and infant brother Clifford.

Survivors include his wife Loni Rainer and sons, Otis and Eugene, all of Seligman, Missouri; son Daniel Rainer of Mt. Ayr, Iowa; and son Tony Hall of Humeston, Iowa; siblings, Ed & Katy Borne of Humeston, Mary Rice of Leon, Lamar Watson and companion Lisa Briner of Maryville, Missouri, Maggie White of Leon, Louise Tilford of Chesapeake, Virginia, Patty & Dwayne Duncan of Stockton, California, Gayle Jones and companion Rachel Holford of Leon, Robin Rainer and Fiance William Smith of Des Moines, Iowa, and James Rainer of Anamosa, Iowa; and Les and Latanya Smith of Kellerton, Iowa; childhood guardian Roe Poush of Leon; stepfather David Smith of Leon; stepmother Ann Rainer of Des Moines; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
