Decatur County Journal
Leon, Iowa
Thursday, August 7, 1913

ELLA MAREE HEWLETT was born near Grand River, Ia., August 31, 1898, and
departed this life at Glenwood, Ia., July 17, 1913, being at the time of her
death, 14 years, 10 months and 10 days of age.

Her death came rather unexpected, although she was an invalid all her life,
she was a sweet child and loved by all who knew her. She was of a cheerful
disposition and not over a half an hour before her death she was laughing
and playing and seemed very happy. She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. R.F. HEWLETT. She was brought to Grand River by her mother, July 18th.
Her father and one sister, Mrs. TOSS SIPLE, have departed to the world
beyond. She leaves to mourn their loss a mother, one sister and four
brothers, and other relatives and friends. She was baptized in the
Presbyterian Church at Leon, Ia. in the year of 1909 and we feel that our
loss is her gain.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. P.H. Hawk. Interment in the
Franktown (sic) Cemetery.

I don't find her in either the Oak Hill or Grand River Cem. Not in the WPA
Records either..
Anyone know?

Her father, Richard Franklin Hewlett is buried in Oak Hill Cem. with his 1st
wife, Mary Otto.
Emma Eldora (Ross) Hewlett was his 2nd wife and she and several children are buried in the Grand River Cemetery. They were Ella's parents.
