Decatur County Journal
Leon, Iowa
Thursday, July 31, 1913

AMELIA RADBAUGH was born at Dayton, Ohio, July 14, 1829. Died at Decatur,
Iowa, July 11, 1913, only lacking three days of being 84 years old.

Losing her parents at the age of six years, she made her home with her
brother, moving to Iowa at the age of ten years. She lived with her brother
until 18 years old, then went back to Indiana, making her home with her
sister until 21 years old, when she was united in marriage to B.J. RIDDLE,
after which she emigrated to Iowa, living together until death called the
husband away about two years ago. To this union ten children were born, of
which nine are still living. She united with the Christian Church in 1894,
being a faithful member until death called her home.

She came to Iowa when Iowa City was but an Indian village. She lived for
over thirty years in Decatur City; 21 years in the home from which the
funeral was held. James W. Johnson, Pastor of the Leon Christian Church,
delivered the sermon from Hosea 11:1-4. The burial was in the Decatur
Cemetery where a great concourse of friends and relatives attended.
