Mrs. JANE DINGMAN died at her home in Leon last Thursday, June 19, and the
funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., interment being at the
Palestine Cemetery by the side of her husband, JOSEPH DINGMAN, who died 20
years ago. The funeral was conducted by Rev. A.V. Stair, Advent Minister,
who resides southeast of Davis city.

Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. H.
Rockafeller, of Kewanee, Ill.; Mrs. Elmer Rockafeller, of Kewanee, Ill.; Mrs
Marie Carroll and son, Leonard, of Chillicothe, Ill.

Mrs. JANE NEWKIRK DINGMAN was born February 24, 1830, in Canada, and
departed this life June 19, 1913. Deceased was married to JOSEPH DINGMAN in
1848, and to this union were born three children, JOHN, who died in
childhood; Mrs. MARTHA CARROLL, of Cillicothe, Ill., ALONZO DINGMAN, of
Paonia, Col., who still survive her. An aged brother, ABRAHAM NEWKIRK, of
Port Huron, Michigan, three half brothers, three half sisters, two
grandchildren, five great grandchildren, who with many sorrowing friends are
left to mourn her demise. Deceased united with the Adventist Church 40
years ago and has always remained a faithful member of this belief.
Grandma" as she was familiarly known by all, was universally beloved.
Kindness was second nature to her. If she could not say good of any one she
did not say anything at all. A kind, loving wife and mother, a good
neighbor. She will be missed from our midst more than words can tell or
express, but our loss is but her gain for we know she is at rest and the
reward of the faithful is hers.
