OBITUARY - WILLIAM RANE CHASTAIN

WILLIAM RANE, son of LUCIUS RANE and SARAH JANE (WALTON) CHASTAIN was born
in Decatur County near Leon, August 2, 1862; died at his home in Leon,
September 28, 1928 aged 66 years and 1 month. He has lived his entire life
in Leon and the immediate vicinity. He was married on December 31, 1903 to
Miss IDA LOE, which was indeed a congenial union. He professed faith in
Christ and became a member of the Christian Church of Leon in 1889 under the
ministry of Rev. Lemon and has lived a consistent Christian life, being
faithful to the church and having an interest in the salvation of others.
He leaves to mourn his departure his devoted wife, three brothers, JOHN, BEN
and ROLL, of near Leon, two sisters, Mrs. OLIVE VANNOSTRAND, of Cheyenne,
Wyoming and Mrs. WALTER SMITH of near Leon, and many other relatives and
dear friends.

He was a devoted husband, a faithful Christian, a helpful citizen and will
be missed in the various places where he served.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church Sunday afternoon, interment
being in the Leon Cemetery.
