Leon, Iowa

THEODORE A. MULLEN was born in Rush County, Indiana, May 18, 1839, and
passed out of this life Sunday May 11, 1913, being 73 years, 11 months and
24 days old.

Brother MULLEN came to Iowa in 1863 and was married to MARY J. WALKER, of
Decatur County, Iowa, May 18, 1864. To this union were born seven children,
five of these have already preceded him to the better land. A devoted wife,
one son, C.E. MULLEN, and a daughter, Mrs. ALTA C. WARD, are left to mourn
their loss. He became a Christian in 1863, and in these long years since
then he has had the dark seasons and his ups and downs. He was a man of
great faith in Christ and was always able to give a reason of the hope that
was within him and firmly believed that he would one day live with Him among
the blest.

His funeral was held in the Christian Church in Decatur City at 2 o'clock
Tuesday, May 13, conducted by Riley Buchanan, assisted by his comrades in
the war of the Rebellion. After services he was laid to rest in the
cemetery west of town to await the final resurrection.
