Decatur County Journal
Leon, Iowa
May 23, 1912

L.R. FOGELMAN, a former resident of near Pleasanton, with his wife and one
son were in Leon last Thursday on their way to their home at Weda, Kansas,
from Cainsville, Mo., where they had been to place at rest the body of their
baby son, PAUL, three years old, who had been drowned on the previous Friday
Mr. FOGELMAN was at work on his farm near Weda selecting seed corn and
little PAUL was playing about while his father worked. The little fellow
wandered away from his father and Mr. FOGELMAN being busy did not miss him
for a few minutes. Upon realizing that the baby was not near he began a
search and found that he had fallen into an old well. The body was quickly
recovered and every effort made to revive the child but without avail. The
death was indeed a sad one and the bereaved parents have the sincere
sympathy of all.
