DEATH NOTICE:

SHRAKE, Junior Edwin, 75, of Leon, Iowa, died December 15, 2009 at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon. Following cremation, a Memorial Celebration was held December 18 at Trinity Christian Church west of Decatur, Iowa with pastor Terry Roberts officiating. Arrangements were through Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home of Leon.

JUNIOR EDWIN SHRAKE ... Junior Edwin Shrake, age 75 of Leon, Iowa, son of John Edwin and Sylvian Marie [Guffey] Shrake, was born December 18, 1933 in Putnam County, Missouri and died December 15. 2009 at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon.

Junior grew up and attended school in Graysville, Missouri. He was married and had two children, Roger and Peggy. Junior was a truck driver, starting out with a coal truck and later a semi.

He married Leona Dean Brammer on April 3, 1983 in Canon City, Colorado. Junior gained Leona's family: Michael, Marlin, Cynthia, Mark, Scott, Taunjia and Tracy.

Junior had an amazing memory until the the end of his life. He remembered every teacher he ever had. Junior loved to tell jokes, play cards, play dice with his son-in-law Jim, and spend time with his special friend Debbie. Junior enjoyed his family, traveling, going places, going to garage sales, and collecting things. Junior called his family on their birthdays and sang "Happy Birthday" to them.

Preceding Junior in death were his parents; wife Leona Shrake in 2003; son-in-law Tom Henry; grandson Dustin Henry in 2009; and sister Barbara Shrake.

Surviving are his children and grandchildren: Roger Shrake and Peggy Knowles and son Rusty of Graysville; Mike Allen and wife Debbie of Pueblo, Colorado and their daughters Rachel and Brandi; Marlin Allen and wife Shirley of Carson, Iowa and their son Shannon; Cindy Johnson and husband Butch of Leon and their children Steve and Misti; Mark Allen and wife Pam of Shelby, Iowa and their daughter Stephanie; Scott Allen and wife Sharon of Katy, Texas and their children Christina, Scott Jr., and Samantha; Taunjia Higdon and husband Jim of Leon and daughters Dezarae and Bridgette; and Tracy Core and Shelly of Marceline, Missouri and children Tabitha and Chuck; great grandchildren: Danyell, Hailey, Ashlynn, Brandon, Aiden, Kyler, Jaedyn, Alexis, Haley, Shayla, Kai, Ari, Chad, Keegan, Amy, Cameron, Trinatie, Katalena, and Harmanie; sisters Betty Rowland and husband Bill of Queen City, Missouri and Brenda Hill of Davenport, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.
