DEATH NOTICE:

BRIGHT, Jettie Ivalee, 87, Carlisle, Iowa, died December 29, 2005 at her home in the Carlisle Care Center. Funeral services were held at the Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa January 3, 2006 with Dick Priest officiating. Burial was in the Leon Cemetery, Leon.

JETTIE IVALEE BRIGHT ... Jettie Ivalee Bright, age 87, the daughter of Oakley Marley and Ora Esther [Hill] Vaughn, was born February 5, 1918 in Decatur County, Iowa. She died at her home in the Carlisle Care Center in Carlisle, Iowa on Thursday, December 29, 2005.

Jettie graduated from Leon High School in 1936. Soon afterwards, she married Forest Gale Bright. Three children blessed this union, Cledith, Shirley, and Karen.

The family lived on a farm in Decatur County until 1945 when Gale went into the Navy during World War II. Jettie moved to Des Moines and worked at Solar Aircraft as a welder. After Gale was discharged, Jettie was a stay at home wife and mother. Later she went to work at Delavan, where she polished jet airplane fuel nozzles during manufacturing. She retired from there at age 62. Jettie was the caretaker of her parents and her sister before their deaths.

When Jettie's health started to fail, she moved in with her son Cledith and daughter-in-law Dixie. In September 2004, she moved into the Carlisle Care Center.

Through the years, Jettie enjoyed playing Bingo, Uno, and card games. She always enjoyed visiting with friends. She attended Pulmonary Rehab at Mercy Hospital from 1994 until 1998. She was a union member during her working years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Gale Bright in 1953; brother Ronald Vaughn; sisters Beatrice McDaniels and Nevalee Vaughn; and two daughters, Shirley Bright and Karen Flockhart.

She is survived by her son Cledith Bright and wife Dixie of Norwalk, Iowa; three grandsons: Kyle and Kale Bright and Todd Krause; eight great grandchildren; sister-in-law Wilma Vaughn of Tucson, AZ; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
