DAVID IRONSIDE, a well-known citizen of Leon, died Monday night after an illness of only a few hours, his death being due to a blood clot which affected his heart. Last Friday while cranking his auto he was struck on the right arm by the crank, inflicting a painful injury, but an X-ray examination showed no bones broken, but his wrist was sprained and the arm swelled considerably. Monday afternoon, he was again working around the car, and complained of a sudden pain in his arm. A physician was called and he was given attention, but about ll o'clock that night he passed away. MR. IRONSIDE was 64 years old. Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian Church, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

DAVID IRONSIDE, son of JOHN and BARBARA (BRUCE) IRONSIDE, was born near Tyvie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on October 3l, l860. He died at his home in Leon, Iowa, Monday, April 7, l924, at ll:20 p.m., being 63 years, 5 months and 7 days. He leaves to mourn his departure, four brothers: WILLIAM, of Wilmot, South Dakota; ALEXANDER, of Leon, Iowa; ADAM, of Brown's Valley, Minnesota; CHARLES, of Midale, Sask, Canada; Two sisters: MRS. CAMERON, of Wilmot, South Dakota; MRS. COTTERILL, of Leon, Iowa.

He immigrated to the United States in the year of l888. He worked at his trade as a stone mason until l894, when he moved to Iowa, and settled on a farm northwest of Leon where he resided until l906. After a visit to his native home, he and his brother, ALEXANDER, moved to Leon, where they have since resided. In April, l9l6, he united with the Leon Presbyterian Church and was a faithful member until his death. A man of sterling integrity will be missed by a large circle of friends.

Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church, Rev. W.B. Paterson our Scotch Minister, using for his text, "If a man die shall he live again." "Because I live ye shall live also." The church was beautifully decorated.
Interment was in the Leon Cemetery.
