MRS. MARGARET ELIZABETH GALPIN was born in Gallia, Ohio, May 5, l850. When she was about l5 years of age the family moved to Decatur County, Iowa.

She was married to DAVID GALPIN in l87l and resided in Iowa until l898, when she and her husband moved to Ravanna, Mo., and lived there until the death of her husband Thanksgiving Day, l900, and she came to Lineville, where she remained until her death March l3, l924.

Sister GALPIN professed faith in Jesus and united with the Methodist Church, South, in l89l, in Rev. McDonald's meeting and has lived a consistent life with her profession ever since. Her membership was changed from the Mercer, Mo., charge in July l92l, and she has taken part in all the organizations of the church and allied herself with the people of Lineville. She said she especially appreciated the Ladies Aid Society, because she met there, the older ladies of her acquaintance. She had been a member of the Rebekah Order for more than 20 years and that Order has shown its appreciation of her membership.

Sister GALPIN had no children born her, but loved children so much that she has had four in her home, two, especially, HENRY PERKINS and MRS. A.G. COZAD, who have said that no woman could have been a better mother to them, the years they were in her home, than she has been.

She was of a kind disposition, a gentle nature and loved company. She loved for the neighbors and the neighbors' children to come into her home and was proud of their friendship. Her remaining near relatives is but one, a brother, MR. JAMES COMER, of Washington, D.C. There are many nieces and nephews in this vicinity and such of her husband. MRS. LEATHERMAN and MR. CRANSTON COMER have been attendants in the home since the death. The neighbors and friends were good to her during her sickness. MRS. COZAD was a constant attendant from the first day to the end of her sickness.
