MRS. J.H. REIGER, widow of J.H. REIGER, pioneer founder of the Lineville Mineral Springs, was found dead Sunday morning near her home 3 l/2 miles southwest of town. Death is believed to have been caused by apoplexy. MRS. REIGER had evidently started to feed her chickens late Saturday evening, as a pan of shelled corn lay near the body. She had lived alone for some time, although she employed a hand who roomed at the Lineville Mineral Springs Hotel nearby.

MRS. REIGER was a Mercer County pioneer and came with her husband to this section of Missouri in an early day and settled on the present site of the famous Lineville Mineral Springs. While drilling for coal, MR. REIGER discovered the Springs and after investigating and finding the value of the water, sunk a deep well and for years the place was known as The Reiger Springs. Later MR. REIGER disposed of the present Springs property and built a home and put down another well just across the fence and only a couple of hundred feet from the original Springs. The neighborhood is shocked and grieved at the sudden taking away of MRS. REIGER.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Mineral Springs and burial at the McKinney Cemetery.
