In a new little home at the end of Short Street in Fairlawn addition, death has come. At the side of the door crepe is hanging. Out in the front lawn this morning, children played unrealizing of the tragedy that has befallen them.

MRS. H.A. ZELLERS, the mother of 5 small children yesterday noon complained that she was not feeling well. However, she had had trouble with her heart before and she thought little of it. MR. ZELLERS went to his work, the children were sent off to school with the exception of the 3-year-old baby which stayed with its mother.

After school, at about 4:00 o'clock, the children started to come home. ROBERT, the youngest of the four, arrived there first. His first call was for mother. There was no response. He began to hunt for her and found her lying on the bed. He tried to arouse her and she would not "waken". Soon the twins, LESLIE and KENNETH, who will be seven years old in December, came. They too wanted mother and tried to help ROBERT waken her. They could not understand why the mother, who always before had heeded their calls, did not answer. LAWRENCE, the oldest of the five boys, came home. He went into the room where his mother lay so white and still. He also tried to waken her and then something seemed to tell him that he was in the presence of tragedy. He fled from the house to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Veach, nearby.

"Something is the matter with mamma," he cried as he entered the home with tears streaming down his cheeks, "she is lying on the bed and her face is so white, she won't open her eyes and she won't wake up."

The neighbors hurried to the ZELLERS home. It was too late however, for death had been there before them. Doctor Hickman was called and came quickly but he stated that death had already taken place.

MR. ZELLERS, who is an engineer at the gypsum mine, was called and hurried home. Today the relatives and friends of MRS. ZELLERS are grief-stricken. Their first sense of the tragedy gone, the children sit in the yard and talk.

GRACE ALLARD was born on a farm 4 miles north of Lineville, Iowa, April, l897, and was the daughter of MR. and MRS. HIRAM ALLARD. She grew to young womanhood in Leon and lived with her parents until she met and married H. A. ZELLERS, of this city. Following her marriage on December 29, l9l3, she has made her home in this city.

She was a devoted wife and mother and a woman of sterling character. She had a wide circle of friends and relatives who mourn her death. She is survived by her husband and five small boys and by three sisters; MRS. ED DOOLEY, of Jerome; MRS. EARL RUMLEY, of Leon; and MRS. M. ZIMMERMAN, of near Cainsville, Mo.; also by five brothers; CLIFFORD ALLARD, of Knoxville; ODE ALLARD, of Knoxville, CHARLES and HARVEY ALLARD, of Leon; WM. ALLARD, of near Woodland. An Uncle, WM. PHELPS, of near Lineville, and an Aunt, MRS. MARY ZIMMERMAN, of near Lineville and a host of friends.

The funeral services were held at the home, Sunday, Sept. 23rd, attended by a very large concourse of sorrowing friends and neighbors, and the body laid to rest in the beautiful Oakland Cemetery. The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
