MANDREW HOLLAND was born July 22nd, l838, and died April l9, l924, aged 86 years, 8 months and l9 days. He was married to LOUISA GOODNO, November 7th, l860. To this union were born ten children. Two died in infancy, a daughter and a son, MANDREW, the third child died at the age of seven years. CLARE STANFORD, of Leon, Iowa; NETTIE RHODES, of Horton, Kan.; SARAH PARSONS, of Leon, Iowa; MAUDE BUCHANAN, of Huron, South Dakota; OLLIE KNAPP, of Waterloo, Iowa; W.R. HOLLAND, of Youngstown, Ohio; S.S. HOLLAND, of Garden Grove, Iowa; survive him, together with his faithful wife.

MR. HOLLAND volunteered in the 50th Ohio Infantry and served his country well during the Civil War, being enrolled on the l3th day of July, l862, and received an honorable discharge June, l865. MR. HOLLAND has been a citizen of this part of the county for many years and one of Garden Grove's highly respected citizens. He lived an upright life, the best of neighbors, a kind father and an affectionate husband. Everybody who knew him was his friend and he will be greatly missed in the community.

All the children were present at the funeral except MRS. BUCHANAN, of Huron, S.D. The funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. Huffman, of the Presbyterian Church; interment in the Garden Grove Cemetery.
