SAMUEL H. ELLIOTT was born Aug. 29, l840, in Marion County, Ind., and died March 25, l923, near Kellerton, Iowa, at the home of his daughter, MRS. ED MOORE, after an illness of several weeks. Aged 82 years, 6 months and 26 days.

He was married to MISS REBECCA OSBORN in Boone County, Ind., July 4, l860. to this union were born (*can't read - there is a very large torn area in the paper. - looks like 8 children?) WILLIAM H., who died (*can't read) S., who died in infancy. BOYD, of Cainsville; (*can't read) ??ood was *can't read) both of Denoyah; ?torms; GEORGIA MEADOWS, of C??oa, Iowa; MRS. DOVE MOORE, of Kellerton, Iowa and MRS. DELLA BIRD, of Tacoma, Wash.

All of the girls except MRS. BIRD were present at the time of the final summons.

Brother ELLIOTT enlisted Aug. ll, l862, as a private in Co. F. of 86th Regiment of Ind. Vol. Inf. He was disabled in service and mustered out Sept. 4, l862.

He came to Iowa in l868 and settled near Sigourney, Iowa, and with the exception of a few years spent in Missouri, he has resided in Iowa since, the last forty years living in and around Leon.

He was a member of the Christian Church at Leon where his membership was at the time of his death. Besides the daughters, he leaves to mourn his loss the aged wife, who shared his joys and sorrows here for over sixty years and now is left with memories of happy days here and hopes of a reunion over there.

Funeral services were held from the Christian Church at 2:30 p.m., March 27, l923, conducted by Rev. E.E. Lister. Interment in Maple Row Cemetery.
