THOMAS HAMER BEAVERS, who has been a resident of this vicinity forty-four years, died Sunday morning at 8:l5 o'clock at his home four and one-half miles south of Villisca. His death was due to an attack of influenza, followed by pneumonia.

He was born in Highland County, Ohio, on May l, l847, and was married to SARAH A. PAINTER at Knoxville, Ill., on Dec. 26, l875. To this union nine children were born, three of whom are deceased. Those living are LULA E., EMMA J., CLARENCE E., and W.L. BEAVERS, who have been living at home with their father; J.E. BEAVERS and MRS. ALTA WHITNEY, also residing south of Villisca.

MR. BEAVERS' wife preceded him in death on April 23, l9l8. Besides his children he leaves three brothers and two sisters. They are J.A. BEAVERS, Villisca; L.W. BEAVERS, Enid, Oklahoma; C.P. BEAVERS, Leon, Iowa; MRS. GEO. SPAETH, Garden Grove, Iowa; MRS. EMMA J. SWOPE, Pierce, Colorado.

MR. BEAVERS came from Ohio to Decatur County, Iowa, with his parents sixty-eight years ago and resided there until he returned to Illinois to get married. He came to Page County, Iowa, in l879, settling on a farm a half a mile from the farm on which he died, moving to the latter place about thirty years ago.

His funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the home at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. J.L. Boyd in charge of the service. The singing was by Mrs. Harry Tyler and Albert F. Davie, and the pall bearers were Jas. Sams, M.M. McCoy, E.D. Winter, Henry Strickland, Thos. Dyke and Guy Robinson. Burial was in the Villisca Cemetery. All of the brothers and sisters of the deceased were here to attend the funeral.
