OBITUARY

CELESTA LITTLE, daughter of STEPHEN and SAMANTHA LITTLE, was born in Mercer County, Mo., September 26, l870. The first four years of her life were spent in Missouri, with her parents. She then came to Iowa in the vicinity of Grand River, where she lived the remaining part of her life, except the last two years her home has been in Osceola.

She was united in marriage to GEORGE FOLAND on Jan. 23, l893. To this union five children were born: HOYLE VAN DORN, ESTHER, NOLAN ALBERT and THELMA; all living except HOYLE VAN DORN, who passed away at the age of seven years.

On January l0, l9l0, MRS. FOLAND was converted and united with the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church near Grand River where her membership has since remained.
After living a consistent Christian life, with her attention directed at all times to her church, family and home, with always plenty of time to give assistance to, not only her neighbors and friends, but to any and all who were in need of assistance. She departed this life on Feb. 27, l923.

MRS. FOLAND leaves to mourn her departure, an aged mother, a loving husband, her four children, three brothers, one sister and a host of friends. The end of this life for her was like the coming to the end of a "Perfect Day." She quietly and peacefully passed over to the other side to await the coming of her loved ones for the final reunion in "A city not made with hands."

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Grand River, on Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Arthur Harper of Missouri. Burial was made in Grand River Cemetery.
