DICY INMAN was born in Park County, Indiana, November 24, l828, and died at the home of her daughter in Kirksville, Mo., March 4, l823, aged 94 years, three months and ten days.

She was married to LEVI MITCHELL, May 20, l847, in Indiana and to this union seven children were born, five of whom are living: SARAH KEMP, of Leon; R.I. MITCHELL, of Grinnell; NANCY N. MCMORRIS, of Leon; W.H. MITCHELL, of Omaha, Neb., and MARY E. LOCKHART, of Kirksville, Mo.

The family moved to Iowa in l855, locating at Knoxville, coming to Decatur County in l866. Here the family home was established until the death of MR. MITCHELL in l888. Since that time MRS. MITCHELL had made her home with her children, the past few years with her daughter in Kirksville, Mo.

When nine years of age, she united with the Baptist Church, and to the end of life, was a devoted Christian, finding her greatest joy in Christian conversation and in Bible study. Her faith in God was supreme, and her repeated statement was that she was entirely ready to meet her Lord.

Beside the children, there are left to mourn her passing, seventeen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a large company of old friends who loved and honored her. The funeral service was held from the Leon Christian Church, Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H.L. Olmstead and E.A. Place. The body was laid to rest in the Leon Cemetery.
