MARY KNAPP CRAIGO, second child of HENRY CLAY and SARAH ANN KNAPP, was born near Castalia, Erie County, Ohio, February l9, l847; Departed this life, March 2, l923; aged 76 years and l3 days.

She came with her parents from Ohio to Iowa and settled in Leon, in l854, being one of the early pioneers of Leon. She was married to NATHAN CRAIGO, April 2l, l864. To this union three children were born, 2 daughters, MRS. EDITH CARMEAN and LULU, of Leon, and one son, B. FRANK CRAIGO, deceased. She leaves to mourn her loss, one aged brother, B. FRANK KNAPP, of Fitzgerald, Georgia; two daughters, EDITH and LULU; two grandchildren, BARDEN CARMEAN, of Leon, and DOROTHY CRAIGO, of Los Angeles, California, and four great grandchidlren.

She was a loyal and active member of the Presbyterian Church, and was devoted to its services, never being absent unless detained by failing health. She has entered into the peace that passeth all understanding, and waits for the coming of her loved ones.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church, Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. T.F. Campbell, of Fairfield; a large concourse of friends being in attendance and the floral offerings were very beautiful. Interment was in the Leon Cemetery.
