HELEN A. LEEDS, eldest daughter of RICHARD C. and MARY E. (RICE) LEEDS, was born in Lowell, Mass., on January ll, l840, and died November 29, l922, in Los Angeles, California, being 82 years, l0 months and l8 days. She moved with her parents to Canaan, N.H., where she was married to DANIEL J. DURELL on February l6, l862. They moved to Rockford, Ill., where four children came to gladden their home, LEON A., of Leon, Iowa; CLARENCE H., who died at the age of one and one-half years. ELIZABETH E. COCHRAN, of Los Angeles, California, and MAE A. CRAIGO, who died Sept. l9, l9l7. There are seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, also one sister, MRS. WILLIAM DELANEY, of Rockford, Ill.

The family came to Butler County, Iowa, in l885 and moved to Decatur County in l888. Her husband died October 25, l890. On November 20, l892, she was married to WILLIAM F. KELLEY. He died on September 8, l898. A few years later, she broke up housekeeping and made her home with her children, most of the time with her daughter in Davenport and later, California.

She united with the Baptist Church in Rockford, Ill., in the year l872, and ever after lived a life of faith and service. While we mourn her loss we feel she is at rest in Heaven.

The funeral services were held Sunday, December l0, at 2 p.m. at the Leon Christian Church, H.L. Olmstead of the Christian Church of Leon, officiating.
