Thursday, November l6, l922BAZEL DAVIS ALLDREDGE was born at Iola, Clay County, Illinois, April l8, l848, where he lived until l6 years of age, when he enlisted in the Union Army, Co. B, l38th, Ills. Voluntary Infantry. At the close of the war he came west, finally locating at Crescent City, Iowa, where he married SARAH E. WILLIAMS, Feb. 26, l87l. To this union ten children were born; LYDIA ANN, who died at the age of 3 years; JAMES HARLEY, now of Leon, Iowa; DAISY MAUDE BAYNE, now of Luton, Iowa; EDITH MYRTLE HUNTING, now of Montezuma, Iowa; WILLIAM P., now of Kingsley, Iowa; CHARLES FRANKLIN, now of Luton, Iowa; BERTHA MAY ALLDREDGE, now of Leon, Iowa; GRACE LORENA CRAIG, now of Cheyenne, Wyoming; DALE C., now of San Jose, Calif.; MADGE LILLIAN, who died at the age of 5 years.
Brother ALLDREDGE also leaves to mourn his death, twenty grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers, JOHN M. ALLDREDGE, of Springer, New Mexico and ALLEN ALLDREDGE, of Seeleyville, Indiana, and one sister, SARAH CAIN, of Sullivan, Ill.
From Crescent City, Iowa, the family moved to Illinois, remaining there two years. Next they moved to Oregon and then in the year l886, they came to Sloan, Iowa, where they lived until l902, when they came to leon, Iowa to make their home. The wife and companion of our brother, departed this life on May l7, l9l7. Since that time our brother had made his home with his youngest daughter, MRS. GRACE CRAIG, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, until a short time before his death when he came back to Iowa to visit his other children and attend the National G.A.R. Encampment at Des Moines, Iowa, taking sick of his last illness at the home of his daughter, BERTHA M. ALLDREDGE, at Leon, Iowa, passing to the other world at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. l8, l922.
He had been a member of the Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church since about the year l876, and firm in his faith until the last. He has gone to his reward and to meet those who went before. Let peace henceforth be his.
Funeral at Sloan, Iowa, Sunday, October 22, l922, conducted by Elder Chas. F. Putnam, of Woodbine, Iowa.
