MAGGIE MAE CLEMENSON was born near Leon, Iowa, November l7, l903, and died in Indianola, Iowa, November 2, l922, aged eighteen years, eleven months and fifteen days. She was the oldest of four children born to CHARLES and CHLOE CLEMENSON.

Except for a few months, the entire childhood and girlhood of the deceased had been spent in Leon. Here she found her school day experiences; here she was associated with the church in its program of young life activities; here were established the dear friendships; here were home and loved ones.

MAE was graduated from the Leon High School in the class of l922, and attained in her class work a most enviable record of scholarship and deportment. In the Methodist Church of which for more than six years, she had been a member, she found a channel of spiritual expression.

Her sickness and decease comes as a deep and numbing shock, and even now we little realize the terrible fact -- it is more like a hideous dream of fantasy. MISS MAE was a freshman at Simpson College and a week ago in perfect health. An infection from a mere scratch developed almost instantly into a mortal wound and in a few hours, the poison had spread throughout her body and death came as a welcome release from the pain and delirium. All that love and science could do was to no avail. The end came quietly like the gentle sighing of a baby in its sleep.

Beside the father and mother, there are left to grieve the departure of this pure and beautiful spirit, two sisters, LEONA and MAXINE, one brother, BILLY, two grandparents, MR. and MRS. A.C. STEPHENS, many other relatives and a company of dear friends whose number is legion.

The funeral service was held from the Leon Methodist Church Saturday morning, conducted by the Pastor and the body was laid to rest in the Leon Cemetery.
