SMITH T. ROBERTSON was born at Pitcairn, St. Lawrence County, N.Y. Moved with his parents to templelean County, Wis., when he was eight years old. Moved to Davis City, Iowa, in the spring of l88(?) to Garden Grove in November, l894, and to Kansas City, Kan., in June, l9l0, where he resided at the time of his death, which occurred July ll, l922.

He was married to VIOLA M. YARRINGTON, dec. 27, l873. To them were born five children, viz.: EDITH M. MYERS, who lives at Caldwell, Idaho; DOROTHY E. WILSON, of Des Moines, Iowa; ELSIE I. MATTHEWS, of Kansas City, Mo., and RUTH E. MCCOLLUM, of Kansas City, Kansas; and EARL S. ROBERTSON, who died Feb. l3, l9l2.

He followed the mercantile business all of his adult years except about six years he was Editor and Publisher of the Davis City Advance, at Davis City, Iowa. He stood high in business circles, honored and respected by all who knew him.

He united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at Arcadia, Wis., in l877 and was ever thereafter a faithful, earnest and devout Christian. He was licensed some thirty years ago as a local preacher, and has filled a number of local appointments very efficiently, honored and esteemed by the membership of the different churches served by him.

For more than forty-nine years he has been a loyal and enthusiastic Mason. While at Garden Grove, Iowa, he served as worshipful Master of Temple Lodge No. l70 A.F. & A.M. for two years, and its most efficient Secretary for a number of years while residing here.

MR. ROBERTSON was a most worthy citizen wherever he lived. As a husband and father he was simply ideal, there was nothing too good for his family and he could not do too much for their happiness and comfort. His ideals were high, whatever he attempted to do he did well so that he always merited the very highest esteem. He was a true and loyal friend, big hearted and generous to a fault. To know him was simply to love him.

His funeral was from the London Heights Church, Kansas City, Kansas, conducted by his Pastor. The Masons had charge of the services at the grave, he was buried by the side of his son, EARL, at Independence, Mo. The floral offerings by the Masonic Lodge and others were most profuse.
