FRANK A. COX, son of ABSOLOM and MARY COX, was born in Decatur County, Iowa, March l7, l866, departed this life at his home in Eden Township, Decatur County, Iowa, on the l5th day of June, l922; being at the time of his death, 56 years, 2 months and l5 days of age. He grew to manhood in Eden Township and attended the rural school in that township. He was married to ROSETTA STEPHENS in Davis City, Iowa, on the l9th day of October, l890. To this union were born two children, AUDRY PICKENS and EARL COX.

His wife and two children were all permitted to be with him when the end came. Besides his brother, GEORGE COX, of near Leon, Iowa, and two sisters, SARAH HAMILTON and DORA HARP, of Des Moines, one grandchild, VETTA IRENE PICKENS, and nephews and nieces and a host of friends to mourn his departure. He was a sufferer of cancer and all was done by medical skill and loving hands to stay death, but to no avail.

He was converted and united with the faith known as the Assembly of God, in Davis City, Iowa, May l7, l9l4, and had set his house in order and was prepared to meet his Savior in the skies. He was a man of sterling qualities, always on the side of right and justice. He had held the office of Township Trustee and Justice of Peace for more than 25 years. He was honored and respected by all who knew him. He prided himself on his honor, his word was just as good as his note. He has lived continuously on his little farm northeast of Davis City, Iowa, for the last 25 years.

He was honest in his convictions, generous to a fault and fair in his judgment. His wife has lost a noble husband and his children a kind and generous father and the neighborhood a noble citizen, but our loss is his gain and the purpose of his life should impress us to live so as to be able to go to meet him when the summons comes. "Rest his Soul in Peace." His funeral was conducted in the old Bethel Church and interment in the cemetery beside the church. The funeral was conducted by W.F. Burchett.
