Many hearts in Leon were saddened Monday, shortly before noon, when it was announced that FRANK FARQUHAR had passed away. MR. FARQUHAR was a member of the firm of Farquhar & Sons, and one of the most popular young businessmen of Leon. He had been in poor health for some time, suffering from stomach trouble, and a couple of months ago went to Des Moines for a course of treatment. He returned home much improved, and continued to gain, until three weeks ago, when he was stricken with appendicitis, and was operated upon at the Leon Hospital, it being found the appendix had burst. He was apparently recovering nicely, and last week was removed to the home of his parents, MR. and MRS. HORACE FARQUHAR, and great hopes were entertained for his recovery. Sunday evening complications arose, and he gradually grew worse, although he was not considered in a serious condition until a short time before his death, which occurred shortly after ll o'clock Monday morning. The funeral was held from the home yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The heartfelt sympathy of everyone goes to the grief-stricken wife, parents and other relatives.
