NANCY ELLEN CHENEY was born on Nov. 25, l843, in Lee County, Iowa, and died March 6, l923, at Garden Grove, Iowa, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 8 days. She moved with her parents to Iowa County and resided on a farm near Millersburg, where she spent the greater part of her life.

In l862, she was united in marriage to MARTIN V. WAGNER, and to this union were born five chidren: JAMES W., of Garden Grove, Iowa; HENRY C., of Marengo, Iowa; WALTER F., of Greeley, Colo.; MRS. DAVID JONES, of Des Moines, Iowa, and JOHN, who died in infancy.

Her husband who was a veteran of the Civil War preceded her in death, Nov. l8, l907, and since then she has made her home near Garden Grove, with her eldest son, JAMES.

At the age of l8 years, she united with the Christian Church at Millersburg. She leaves to mourn her loss, four children, ll grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren besides other relatives and friends.

The funeral services were held at the home of JAMES W. WAGNER, on March 7, conducted by Rev. V.J. Andrew, Pastor of the M.E. Church at Garden Grove, and the body was taken to Marengo for burial.
