Camping on the Grand River
The current popularity of camping is nothing new as this was done in the olden days, too. One time the ED TEALE and A.L. TEALE families were camping along the Grand River for several days and one afternoon Mrs. A.L. TEALE became possessed with a strong urge to pack up and go home.
Her urging was so persistent that the entire camp broke up and left, much to the disgust of some of the other members of the party. But she was vindicated before 12 hours were up, as a bad storm came up through the night and the heavy rains resulted in the river widely overflowing its banks. The camping ground was completely flooded by the next morning. Needless to say, the disgust of the other members changed to thankfulness.
