Oscar and Ruby took Eva Lane to raise after her mother died. Eva is the
youngest daughter of Jetttie Vaughn and Clem Lane.

Oscar R. Vaughn, well known farmer, who has been ill for several months passd
away at the Wright hospital in Trenton Wednesday morning. Funeral services
were held at the Methodist church Friday afternoon. Rev. V . F. Walker of
Princeton, conducted the service. He was asisted by Rev. Roy Donelson and
Rev. Fred Martin. Appropiate music was furnished by Mrs. Rex Moore of
Trenton, Mrs. J.W. Wilson of Trenton, Mr. and Mrs. Porter Logan and J. L.
Logan. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Oscar R. Vaughn son of Arthur and Ellen Vaughn, was born in Decatur county,
Iowa, June 28, 1887, and passed away in the Wright hospital in Trenton. Mo.,
November 17,1943, at the age of 56 years, four months and 19 days. He was
united in marriage to Ruby Peck on March 12, 1913, who preceded him in death
on February 20, 1938. On December 19, 1939, he was married to Mrs. Elsie
Galvin. Beside his wife he is survived by his aged father, four brothers,
Orville of Woodland; Ottie of Humeston; Sheila of Mercer and Ollo of
Colorado; one sister Mrs Edilth wolfe of Long Beach California and a niece,
Mrs. Eva Lane Posey of Burlington whom he raised and cared for as his own
child; also one step-son, Lester McHargue and a host of other relatives and
friends. He was preceded in death by his mother October 26, 1929 and his
sister Mrs. Jettie Lane May 13, 1920. Oscar was a good neighbor and friend
and was well liked by all who knew him. The memory of many kindly deeds and
of his honor and integrity will live long in the hearts of his friends.

I thank you very much for the info on the descendants of Robert
Haynes Moore, my Great grandfather. This is wonderful! I am brand
new at this and surely appreciate all the help I can get,althou I
haven't really learned how to word my queries properly I'm afraid. I am
the 2nd son of John Stokely (Stokes) Moore and Mary Gertrude Peck. I
could complete some of your info on their descendants if you wished-also
on the descendants of Audie Lonaborn Moore m.Percy Forman as well as the
descendanys of Oscar Moore m.Hilda Haug.
Let me know if you wish to add this info and I will get back ASAP. I am
tied up on another project at the moment but could work this up and
relay this to you reasonably soon if desired. If
anyone out there is interested. I also have info on the parents of
Robert Haynes Moore, Levi & Rachel Haynes Moore, also on Levi's
father,Timothy Moore who emigrated from Ireland to VA. in 1761. I hate
to bother further but if you have info on the Donelsons buried in the
Moore Cemetery, I would surely appreciate receiving it. Thanks once

Alice Bernice Davis

Des Moines, la. - Alice Bernice Davis, daughter of Frank and Inez Warnock,,,

was born at Lineville, April 9, 1912, and passed away Saturday, Dec. 28. 1996
at Des Moines General Hospital at the age of 84.
She was united in marriage to Vernie Davis, May 30, 1930, at Mercer, he
preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her
parents; a daughter, Jeanne Carmichael; and three sisters, Gladys
Jennings,Treva Porter and Genevieve Hoover.
Mrs. Davis was a lifelong resident of the Lineville area, and was a member
of the Lineville Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son in-law, Max Carmichael,, Leon, la.; by a
granddaughter, Laura Treadwell (and husband, David), Princeton; and by two
grandsons, Dennis Carmichael (and wife, Rhonda), Princeton and Joe
Carmichael (and wife, Beth), Newton, la. Also surviving are four sisters,
Hazel Vinzant, Bettendorf, la.; lzola Wanzel, Davenport, la.; Frankie
Haggard, Mercer; and Annabelle Mason, Milan, Mo. Also surviving are six
great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. '
Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 31 at the GreenleeMiddleton Funeral
Chapel, Lineville. Burial was in the Eyergreen Cemetery, Lineville,
officiated by Rev. Bill Rtantnrf

Vernie Davis, the tenth child of John G. and Hattie Davis, was b May 5, 1911.
Mercer Co., Mo.

He attended Girdner Country School. Like his father and soe of his brothers
he works for the Rock Island Railroad. Living in South Lineville, Mo.

Vernie married Allice Wornick, daughter of Frank P. and Inez Ellen (Peck )
Wornick b. April 9, 1912.

Vernie and Alice lived in the Davis home. After the death of both of his
parents. They sold the farm and bought a property in Lineville, Ia. Vernie
and Alice were the parents of one daughter.

Loris Jean (Jeannie) born May 8, 1931. Jeannie married Max Carmicheal, who
is a Baptist minister. To this union three children were born;
Dennis Allen Carmicheal, born Oct. 1948, married in 1971, Rhonda Marcolf.
They have a daughter Linda.

Joe C. Carmicheal, born 28 Aug. 1950, married Beth Bright. They are the pof
one child; Randa born Jan 1969

Laura Carmicheal, born Oct. 1954, married in 1972, David Beavers.

I was talking to Betty today and I asked her if Jesse B. Davis had been
married two times. She said that not to her knowlege, she had heard from
someone that he had but she had never been able to verifty.

information concerning Moses Smith.

A couple of years ago someone pointed me in the direction to Donald
Smith. He has been working on the genealogy of the Smith Family for
many years. Last I heard, he was considering writing a book. I never
