A very pretty quiet home wedding, the
marriage of MISS LEILA CLANTON to
MR. HERMAN J. TIEDJE, was solemnized at the
home of the bride's parents,
MR. and MRS. F.L. CLANTON, of Van Wert, Iowa,
last Sunday afternoon at 4
o'clock, in the presence of a few intimate
friends and relatives.

Just before the appearance of the bridal
party, Miss Alma Garber, of Des
Moines, sang the effective and every
beautiful solo, "Oh, Promise Me,"
Miss Josephine Blair accompanying at the
piano. Then as the strains of
"Mendelssohn's Wedding March" were played by
Miss Proda Sconce, the
young couple attended by LEON A. GARBER and
MISS ALMA GARBER took their
places beneath a canopy of pink and white
creation and before an
improvised altar of ferns, where they were
met by the Rev. A.B. Cornell,
of the Christian Church, who performed the
impressive ceremony, which
made this twain--one. L.A. Garber sang "I
Love You Truly" while
congratulations were being extended. A
delicious four course lunchion
followed, the pink and white color scheme
being in evidence in the menu
and prevailing in all other appointments
throughout the house. Miss
Ruth Garber, of Des Moines, dressed in a pink
and white costume, did the
service. She was assisted by Miss Edith
Tiedje, of Davenport, sister of
the groom.

The bride wore a becoming gown of white crepe
de chine with lace
trimmings, beautiful in its simplicity, and
carried a shower bouquet of
bride's roses. MISS GARBER, the attendant,
dressed in a simple white
frock, with trimmings of small pink rosebuds;
wore a corsage bouquet of
pink roses.

Both the bride and groom are well known and
very highly respected in the
vicinity where they live, and deserving of
the high esteem in which they
are held. For the present they will make
their home with the bride's
parents. May much happiness and prosperity
attend them through life.
