Decatur County Journal
Thursday, June 24, l9l5

A very pretty wedding took place at six
o'clock Wednesday evening, June
l6th, at the home of MR. and MRS. JAMES R.
BROWN north of Garden Grove,
when their daughter, FRANCES, was married to
MR. CLAUDE ROBINSON, of
Davis City, Iowa.

MISS EVA JENNINGS, of Garden Grove, sang
"Silent as Night" by Carl Bohm,
after which the bride and groom entered the
parlor to the strains of
"Lohengren's Wedding March," played by Mrs.
C.E. Stuber, of Leon, and
took their places beneath an arch of roses
and foliage where the ring
ceremony was performed by Rev. J.G. Duling,
of the M.E. Church of Garden
Grove.

The bride wore a charming and dainty costume
of white shadow lace over
white crepe de chine. And her veil, which
was a lovely creation of
white silk tulle, was simply adorned with
lillies of the valley. She
carried a beautiful shower bouquet of bride's
roses and lillies of the
valley, the gift of the groom. The groom
wore the customary black.

After the ceremony, a delightful two course
supper was served and the
guests enjoyed a social hour together. Mr.
Duling very kindly
entertained the guests for a time by giving a
couple of humerous
readings, which were much appreciated. At
eight-thirty the young couple
left for Chicago where they will spend a week
before they return to make
their home in Davis City where MR. ROBINSON
is engaged with his father
in the drug business.

MRS. ROBINSON is the eldest daughter of MR.
and MRS. J.R. BROWN, and has
grown to young womanhood in this community.
She is a graduate of the
local high school, class of '07 and a
graduate of the State Training
School for Nurses, class of 'll. Her
unassuming wholesome disposition
and many virtues have made her especially
dear to all who know her. She
is one of the most practical and accomplished
young women of the county
and is unusually well fitted for her new
position in life.

MR. ROBINSON is a graduate of Northwestern
University College of
Pharmacy and is a very prosperous and highly
respected young man.
He was formerly located at Leon, Iowa, and
his friends are numerous
wherever his is known.

The guests were, Dr. and Mrs. J.H. Robinson,
father and mother of the
groom, of Davis City; Dr. and Mrs. J.W.
Robinson and Dr. H.L. Robinson,
of Des Moines; Dr. and Mrs. T.J. Wilkins, of
Saline, Mo.; Mrs. J.W.
Honnold, Mr. and Mrs. O.E. Hull and daughter,
Miss Dorothy, Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Teale and son, Robert, Mr. and Mrs. C.E.
Stuber, of Leon; Mr. and
Mrs. H. H. Boothy and Arthur Dougherty, and
Miss Winnie Schwilck, of
Corydon; Miss Myrle Lillard, of Earlham; Miss
Magdaline Blessin, of Des
Moines; Miss Jettie Stahl, Miss Ellen Hanson,
Miss Henrietta Wirty and
Miss Loua Trott, of Iowa City; Miss Mary J.
McCrea, of Bedford; Mrs. E.
McCaull, Miss May Waters, Miss Eva Jennings,
Miss Mary Brown and Miss
Margaret Brown, of Garden Grove.

A lovely assortment of beautiful and useful
gifts were received.
The good wishes of every one and the sincere
hope that the future will
be very liberal with her choicest blessings,
go with this popular young
couple as they start on life's journey
together.
